William K. Oh, MD

We’re pleased to welcome William K. Oh, MD, as a scientific advisor to Blank Bio, bringing decades of experience in precision oncology, clinical trials, and the application of molecular data to cancer care.

Dr. Oh is Director of Precision Medicine at Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital, Professor of Internal Medicine at Yale School of Medicine, and the Jean and David W. Wallace Medical Director of Smilow Cancer Hospital at Greenwich Hospital. A genitourinary oncologist specializing in prostate cancer, he leads efforts to integrate translational research, clinical trials, and molecular testing into routine cancer care.

Before joining Yale, Dr. Oh served as Chief Medical Officer and Executive Vice President of the Prostate Cancer Foundation, and as Chief Medical Officer of Sema4, where he worked on translating clinical and genomic data into evidence to guide treatment decisions. He previously served as Chief of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Mount Sinai and Deputy Director of the Tisch Cancer Institute. Earlier in his career, he was Clinical Director of the Lank Center for Genitourinary Oncology and Director of the Gelb Center for Translational Medicine at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, with an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Oh has published more than 370 peer-reviewed papers and served as principal investigator on studies of therapies for advanced and high-risk prostate cancer. At Dana-Farber, he led a center that established a prospective resource linking clinical data from more than 8,000 patients with prostate cancer to blood, DNA, RNA, and tissue samples. His research includes work on treatment resistance, prognostic biomarkers, and blood-based RNA signatures that predict survival in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer.

Dr. Oh currently chairs the American Cancer Society’s National Prostate Cancer Roundtable and the Medical Advisory Council of the Chemotherapy Foundation. He earned his undergraduate degree at Yale and his MD at NYU, followed by residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and a medical oncology fellowship at Dana-Farber.

Dr. Oh will help guide Blank Bio’s clinical strategy and the evaluation of our RNA foundation models, drawing on his experience connecting patient biology with clinical evidence and treatment decisions.
